Beet Cake/ Tiger in a Jar

"There is something beautiful about the baking process.
The way flour feels in your hands or the sound of eggs cracking on the edge of a bowl.
Baking is a gathering of interesting materials, a mixed medium art piece of sorts, that ends in a cake instead of a canvas".  (Tiger in a Jar)

Amira Fritz/ The Mood of the Light

"I love the colors in Joel Meyerowitz’s pictures. I also admire the work of Karen Knorr and Hiroshi Sugimoto. Other artists that have a strong influence on me are Albrecht Dürer and the members of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood. In addition cinema had a great impact on my work. When I was living in Vienna and Berlin I used to work as a film projectionist in small independent movie theatres. Watching the movies through the projection room’s little window - often without hearing the sound - has changed my way of seeing".

Paper Record Player/ Kelli Anderson

This is a paper record player wedding invitation! In the booklet-style invitation, a bit of paper-folding amplifies the sound of a sewing needle moving along the grooves of a flexidisc record. The hand-spun record yields a garbled, but scrutable listening of an original song by the couple.
The whole thing serves as an interactive packaging for the song—which can be experienced on the paper record player, unscrewed + set on a regular turntable, or enjoyed online.

So that’s what it is. Pretty cool, eh? Download the entire song here.
